Platitudes of Gratitude

Heading toward Thanksgiving and the Giving Season, I can't help being cliché and listing some of the things for which I'm grateful:

  • Kids who agree it makes sense to go out for ice cream on the way back from trick-or-treating.
  • Parents who aren't exactly at 100% health, but who are still kicking and showing me how to squeeze the most out of life.
  • Far-flung friends who treat me like family and entice me to travel a lot.
  • A partner who gets me.
  • A squad of generous do-gooders on the Internet who bring me a sense of purpose.

October 2021 winner Planned Parenthood

Last night we named Charitocracy's 62nd monthly winner. Congratulations to Planned Parenthood, nominated by donor Bethany. They deliver vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people worldwide. You can find their website here. You may recall that this is now their second win, after first taking the win in June 2017. This is the first two-time winner among national causes!

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to PP next week.

So finally check out this video about how sexual and reproductive health care IS health care, and health care is a human right. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1000+ grant to support Planned Parenthood's ongoing work.
