Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe we've been doing this Charitocracy thing for over 5 years, and just concluded our 6th "giving season!" I love these charities you're picking as winners, and so many of the recent nominees as well. Keep up the great work with your donations, nominations, invitations, and, of course, votes! Let's make 2022 the best year yet. ❤️

December 2021 winner Woodwell Climate Research Center

Last night as the ball dropped we named Charitocracy's 64th monthly winner. Congratulations to Woodwell Climate Research Center, nominated by donor RoamX. They advance scientific discovery and solutions to address the world’s climate challenges. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to WCRC next week. (We've received one nice juicy one already, thanks!)

So finally check out this quick holiday wishes video from Woodwell Climate Research Center. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1050+ grant to support WCRC's ongoing work.

Have a great January and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!

November 2021 winner All Hands and Hearts

Charitocracy's 63rd check to November winner All Hands and Hearts for $1010

We have good news about November winner All Hands and Hearts, right after this quick update...

Road Trip!

I'll keep this short, since I'm on the road visiting some cities in the southeast I've been missing out on my whole life: Savannah, Charleston, and Wilmington. A lot of history and culture to learn about down here. (Also some decent breweries!) Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, and please keep Charitocracy in your thoughts during this Giving Season. Thank you all! ❤️

November 2021 winner All Hands and Hearts

Last night we named Charitocracy's 63rd monthly winner. Congratulations to Hurricane Ida Relief @ All Hands and Hearts, nominated by donor RoamX. They deliver a Smart Response to those reeling from Hurricane Ida, devastating Louisiana and bringing historic flooding to NY & NJ. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to AHAH next week. (We've got one already!)

So finally check out this video about All Hands and Hearts' response to Hurricane Ida. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1010+ grant to support AHAH's ongoing work.

Have a great December and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!

October 2021 winner Planned Parenthood

Charitocracy's 62nd check to October winner Planned Parenthood for $1000

We have good news about October winner Planned Parenthood, right after this quick update...

Platitudes of Gratitude

Heading toward Thanksgiving and the Giving Season, I can't help being cliché and listing some of the things for which I'm grateful:

  • Kids who agree it makes sense to go out for ice cream on the way back from trick-or-treating.
  • Parents who aren't exactly at 100% health, but who are still kicking and showing me how to squeeze the most out of life.
  • Far-flung friends who treat me like family and entice me to travel a lot.
  • A partner who gets me.
  • A squad of generous do-gooders on the Internet who bring me a sense of purpose.

Thank you all! ❤️

October 2021 winner Planned Parenthood

Last night we named Charitocracy's 62nd monthly winner. Congratulations to Planned Parenthood, nominated by donor Bethany. They deliver vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people worldwide. You can find their website here. You may recall that this is now their second win, after first taking the win in June 2017. This is the first two-time winner among national causes!

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to PP next week.

So finally check out this video about how sexual and reproductive health care IS health care, and health care is a human right. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1000+ grant to support Planned Parenthood's ongoing work.

Have a great November and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!
