A few words on Charitocracy

Firstly, for newcomers: here's how it works. Donors pool their monthly contributions, as little as $1. The cause with the most votes each month wins the pot. No matter how much or how little you contribute, each donor at Charitocracy gets one vote. This is where charity meets democracy. So please share this post (see social sharing icons at top of post) and ask your friends to join us and vote! That's how we spread the word and, as a result, grow the monthly pot. The bigger the pot, the bigger our positive impact on the world!

About nominee Environmental Educators of North Carolina

About nominee A Mother's Rest

The AMR Difference: Proactive vs. Reactive Self-Care

A Mother's Rest is a first-of-its-kind nationwide respite & fellowship experience exclusively for parents and caregivers who have loved ones with disabilities and/or chronic illness.

Our 501c3 non profit is committed to the proactive health care of special needs parents and caregivers through frequent & affordable respite retreats. We are redefining "respite" and creating a comprehensive care program that alleviates the life strains of these families.

AMR functions under the premise that "you can't pour from an empty cup." Our nationwide network of bed and breakfast "Porch Partner" inns makes respite retreats available and affordable to parents all over the US and Canada. And we do it with private funding. It is core to our goals to not add to the tax burden, nor to be limited by restrictions of receiving government funding. We want to be able to say YES to caregivers when they ask for help.

Our *children* are worthy of our *healthiest* best.
