June 2021 winner Together Rising

Charitocracy's 58th check to June winner Together Rising for $1152

We have good news about June winner Together Rising, right after this quick update...

Happy 4th of July!

On the Charitocracy OBX blog, I talk about the weekly farmer's market at which I'm spending my Thursdays. I do hype both the OBX and national Charitocracy sites, but the crowd is slightly biased. Anyway, for the rest of you spread out across the country, let me just wish you a happy 4th of July weekend. And know that no matter from where you're traveling in, you're always welcome to drop by the Dowdy Park Farmer's Market in Nags Head, NC on any given Thursday. I can't wait to chat you up!

June 2021 winner Together Rising

Last night we named Charitocracy's 58th monthly winner. Congratulations to Together Rising, nominated by donor bertiebrinkley. They transform collective heartbreak into effective action by supporting families and individuals through direct grants of funds or goods and organization grants to partners on the ground. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to Together Rising next week.

So finally check out Together Rising's 2020 year in review. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1152+ grant to support their ongoing work in 2021.

Have a great July and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!

May 2021 winner HIAS

Charitocracy's 57th check to May winner HIAS for $1219

We have good news about May winner HIAS, right after this quick update...

Give me a holler

I don't get a chance to hear from my "customers" very often. We're 100% online with all transactions taking place over a web site. There's no real opportunities for face-to-face personal banter, which would be helpful to know what I'm doing right and what I could do better. If you have ideas for improving Charitocracy and/or recruiting more donors, whether they hit you today or months from now, don't be shy! Get in touch and let's chat about it. Thanks!

May 2021 winner HIAS

Last night we named Charitocracy's 57th monthly winner. Congratulations to HIAS, nominated by donor r.a.y.. They work around the world to protect refugees who have been forced to flee their homelands because of who they are, including ethnic, religious, and sexual minorities. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to HIAS next week.

So finally brace yourself for this uplifting video of Claris, who received asylum from Cameroon with HIAS's help, qnd her mother Anita reuniting with her children, Junior and Blossom, after 6 years apart. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1219+ grant to support their ongoing work.

Have a great June and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!

April 2021 winner Environmental Educators of North Carolina

Charitocracy's 56th check to April winner Environmental Educators of North Carolina for $1214

We have good news about April winner Environmental Educators of North Carolina, right after this quick update...

Over $75,000 granted

We've been nominating, voting, and granting awards for 56 months now! So it's bound to add up, and we just crossed a nice big milestone.

If ever you wonder how a contribution of just $1 can have an impact, remember that we're multiplying it both across time and across our now over 300 active donors. While most donations are $1 per month, there are enough Charitocracy donors among us fortunate enough to be able to donate more that we average about $4 per month per donor. If you'd like to help increase our monthly pot size, and get us to the $100,000 mark sooner, it's really easy to increase your donation amount! But the best way to get there is always inviting more donors (and thus more voters!) into the mix.

April 2021 winner Environmental Educators of North Carolina

Last night we named Charitocracy's 56th monthly winner. Congratulations to Environmental Educators of North Carolina, nominated by donor florackl. They build connections, provide professional development, and promote excellence in environmental education. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to EENC next week.

So finally please have a laugh at this 2019 EENC flash mob, and the following blooper reel! Who says environmental educators have no fun?? Then feel good about your part in our collective $1214+ grant to support their ongoing work.

Have a great May, stay safe, and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!
